Copper C110
Copper C110, also known as electrolytic tough copper (ETP), is a copper with 99.90% copper content. Because it has a high cost-effective ratio, it became the most widely used copper alloy and is particularly suitable for a variety of electrical applications. Compared to copper 101, it is easier to machine.

Copper C101
Copper 101, or oxygen-free copper, is a high purity metal with a copper content of approximately 99.99%. It has outstanding electrical conductivity and is also known as super-conductive copper. Its high conductivity makes it often used in bus bars, wire connectors and coaxial cables.

Industry Application for Copper

Surface Finish for Copper Parts
In general, copper is often used in scenarios where it is thermally or electrically conductive. Therefore, its surface treatment must not affect these properties. The following are common surface treatments for copper, in addition to this, bead blasting is also commonly used in the surface finish of copper.
Electropolishing: Electropolishing finishes can achieve a very smooth surface while improving its corrosion resistance without affecting electrical conductivity.
Electroplating: Electroplating treatments do not affect its electrical conductivity or thermal conductivity and help prevent oxidation of its surface. Commonly used such as gold or silver plating.
Cost-saving Advice
Cost is often a major consideration in the design of most products, and not every factory has the ability to control costs. With the experience we have gained over the years, there are two main cost saving tips for the manufacturing process of custom copper parts.
Material selection principle: Unless necessary, the unique properties of copper are required, try not to select it as a material when designing. In terms of grade selection, unless special conductivity is required for C101, C110 is sufficient for most designs.
Design principle: Although copper is easy to machine, improper design can lead to waste of its machining time or material. Design optimization should follow the DFM principle as much as possible, and the right fit is the best.
