    We will follow strictly the tolerance requirements specified on the drawings, and for unspecified tolerances, ISO 2768 -m or ISO 2768 -f will be applied by default. Normally, CNC milling and turning is available for the tolerance of 0.01 mm, for the tolerance of 0.005 mm, grinding is necessary.

    DFM Tips for Precision Machining

    Avoid Excessive Deep Holes

    The effective cutting edge length of the milling tool is limited, and the right design of the hole depth help reduce the machining time and machining cost.

    Limit thread depth

    Deep threads are sometimes completely unnecessary. It is usually best to design the depth of threads to be from 1.5 X to 3 X the diameter of the threaded holes.

    Avoid Excessive Tolerance

    Take note that excessive tight tolerances will increase machining difficulties and machining costs. Thus, narrow tolerances requirement should only be specified as necessary.

    Holes with standard size can be CNC machined by standard drill bits with accuracy and high speed. This can help save machining cost in contrast to non-standard size holes.

    avoid Excessive aesthetic

    Prioritizing the accuracy of necessary features over aesthetics will help improve your design, as aesthetic requirements can be achieved with finishing such as polishing.

    Avoid Thin Wall

    It is quite difficult for accurately machining thin-walled parts. To keep machining costs low, the minimum thin wall should be 0.8 mm for metal parts and 1.5 mm for plastic parts.

    Avoid too Small Features

    Too small features such as less than 2.5 mm in diameter will increase the machining difficulty, thus it should be avoided except when necessary.

    Right Thread Size

    The recommended thread size is M6 or above, avoiding thread sizes smaller than M2, and it is also important to avoid designing holes that cannot be threaded.

    Necessary Radii

    In order to avoid wear and tear of tool, it is necessary to add radii to inner edges (round the internal corners) in your design to avoid unnecessary pressure on the tool.
